a weekend away

With the end of the semester rapidly approaching and about 5,000 things stressing me out, I decided I needed to get out of Tuscaloosa for the weekend. So, last Wednesday I made plans for my friend and I to spend the weekend with my grandmother in Atlanta. My mom and aunt were going to be leaving for Costa Rica from Atlanta on Saturday morning, so I got to see my mom for a little bit Friday night too!

We got to my grandmother's around 3:30 on Friday. After unpacking and catching up, we grabbed dinner to go at the OK Cafe and went to visit my uncle and his girlfriend. Saturday, we went to the High Museum of Art to see the Da Vinci exhibits. Afterwards we went to the mall, had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then went back to her house to watch the Alabama game. The weekend was so fun and went by way too fast! I was sad to leave this afternoon, but am feeling refreshed and ready to get all of my school work done!

I thought it would be fun to make little goodie-bags for my mom and aunt to take on their flight to Costa Rica. I made the airplanes on the fronts out of card stock. Aren't they cute?

a new idea.

I've decided that I'm going to start uploading different projects I do for school & art I do for fun.
I'm uploading 2 today.

About these sketches:

1. The sketch of the woman's face was done last year in my design lab. It's just a quick doodle I did before starting my assignment for the day.
2. The other sketch is my "reproduction" of a piece done by an art teacher I had in middle school. His style is so interesting, I love it. I did this sketch one Sunday a few months ago.

pie pops

Happy Halloween! I found this recipe on bakerella.com & thought these would be perfect for Thanksgiving! So, I decided to make a test batch of them today to see how they'd turn out. I chose to make pumpkin this time, which isn't my favorite type of pie. However, overall they turned out great! They're so easy to make & I think they look adorable!

how now, brown cow?

I've had a box of cake mix in the pantry for a month & have been dying to put it to use but haven't had time...tonight, I finally had the chance. It's a rainy, drab night so Hannah & I decided to bake & watch a movie. Cake+ Sex & the City = bliss. She picked up some sprinkles at Target & they went perfectly with the icing! How cute are they?? They're cows!

It's our "How Now, Brown Cow" cake. .

my first blog.

Today I decided to create a blog so that I can share all of my creations with my family & friends. What started out as fun & exciting has quickly turned to frustration because I can't figure out how to change my background color! I click on the color I want to change it to and nothing happens! If you know how to do this, please help me out!
